This may be a very obvious question for most members but I love this guys photo's, he seems to be able to just keep enough detail in the highlights yet still make the whole image bright and different, is it done with filters? or is it photoshop?

1 2 and 3 are almost definately HDR I'd say, though I'm no expert!

I think the first three look more like he's used an ND grad filter, or similar effect in photoshop..

I'm pretty sure those are pasted in skies in 1, 2, 3 and 5. Frankly I don't care much for the effects he's used. All of them detract from the subject in my personal opinion.

The skies are definitely pasted in (and not very well TBH). He probably spends a lot of time in photoshop tweaking things too.

Cheers all, I think i'm gonna have to look into the more advanced side of HDR instead of the usual luminous colours

Keeping the image bright without blowing the highlights is known as "high key". Have a Google. :D

It's Photoshop. And he's pretty damn good at it. Nice camerawork too.

It is likely he shoots in RAW too, as this gives better exposure latitude, which he almost certainly brings out in post processing.

He's not that good at it. Some of the blending of the skies is pretty bad imo.

I'm guessing in Image 3 the driver lives somewhere without speedhumps :D

Check out the contrast masking technique in the tutorials section. It'll give a similar result

layers for each area of the shot. its the way I do it and most other car togs I know do.

they are not HDR
