How fast a Cf card do I need for a 7d

as per title, how fast does it need to be ?
is there any point in say using a 600x over a 200x or is it just a case of willy waving :lol:

The speeds are for the buffer. Do you shoot continuous machine gun style?
 
I've been using Transcend 32GB 133X cards for 2.5 years in both my 7D and 5D2, and my 50D and 1D3 before that, and they cope with video perfectly well and clear the buffer fast enough for my needs,and that's shooting to raw.

YMMV.
 
I'm not suffering with any issues with my 133x just need another card
so whilst buying one I just thought I'd check with the experts whether to buy a 200x or the latest 600x
I can get a 32 gig 600x for 49.99 form duracel direct so it's not exactly dear
seems I might as well save some money then and get a 300x
What about read speeds when down loading to light room
whilst I have no issues with the camera taking pics and video the down loading is a bit slow
 
You might well see an improvement in downloading speeds with a faster card. For me it is a non issue, because even with a few hundred large raw files to download I can still only view/edit them a few at a time and it takes Lightroom quite a while to keep up and render previews ready for viewing.

When I made my purchase decision, a few years ago, my cards were around £55 each and it was a tradeoff between capacity or speed. I chose capacity. Nowadays you can have both for not a lot of money, relatively speaking.
 
just had an email through from duracel direct with a promo code, good job i posted this first before I bought the cf card else I would have bought the cf without the promo
I was looking for a usb stick as well and as if by magic the promo gives me a free usb stick if I spend £30 or more
I feel so excited now lol free usb stick on its way with the 32 gig 600x
I really need to get out more roflol

Some promo codes are quite generic, ie loads of people can use the same one. If this is the case here then you can post it up for others to benefit as well.

if so posted it above
never used one before didn't realise anyone can use them
it was only for a free usb stick if you spend £30 +
Must say the duracell batteries I have bought in the past the lpe8 and the lpe6 have been equally as good as the canon OE at a fraction of the cost
The Duracell SD card I bought for the 600d has been ace as well
