How film is made

Very cool film, I was amazed that Kodak used 11 tonnes of silver a week in 1958.
Thanks for the link.

Cool. I'm winding up my vegetarian mate about gelatine being used in film. I assume it's still the case in some films, but hasn't it been replaced in newer films?

According to a 2009 Amateur Photographer article, all commercially available films still use gelatin.

I must say, your mate is very conscientious! Most "vegetarians" I know will still eat Parmesan or chicken, and sometimes fish and the odd bacon sarnie

Yes, he's a bit of a tit (in the nicest way). I pointed out that he shouldn't really use steel either as animal fats are used in the hardening process. To be honest you can tease him for using pretty much anything. He even steals oxygen from animals!
