This is a post I never thought that I would be writing
Still if you all want to laugh at me please read on.
( I know that my friends will skip this post BTW
Yeah right
)
And there are a few here that won't actually believe the story I am about to relate but I swear its all true
I made a very last minute decision to visit Whipsnade today
It was cool overcast and "good light" so I thought that it would be ideal as not all the animals would be hiding.
By mid day it was a scorcher with harsh and variable light I did consider ****ing off home again,
as I knew that everyone would be asleep and / or hiding,
but I persevered like the true Trojan that I am
How wrong I was, I was using a 70-200 and occasionally a 2x TC.
( for the cats as they are always the other side of the compounds)
the lens was far too long!
I had the cats that is lions, cheetahs and tiggers charge the glass or be right up against it, and my 24-105 would have been ideal!
I never, in a million years dreamed, that I would ruin so many shots because the animals were just too damned bloody close :bang:
Let that be a lesson to you all, make sure you have ALL your lenses with you
where ever you are as you never know!
I did get quite a few usable ones dispute the
non co-operation and "best efforts" of said inmates,
and I will post a selection once edited.
