Would probably work on a fastpack too.

So this is Lowepro's image.

That is great and all but I have nowhere to put the big lens when not on the camera... And I can't change lenses without taking the back off else everything would fall out....

So, my solution.

Only works if you zip it back up before returning it to your back....

Yeah I think so. The only bit that I think isn't is that tiny bit across the middle but that isn't really needed. Otherwise I am quite sure it is.

It just seems so stupid having a bag designed for quick access, but you can HAVE to have your biggest lens on and you can't get to any of the others....

It doesn't bump into it no.

Here is a view from above, the 70-200 has the hood on reversed.

I could (and might) split the middle section in half because the camera can just about fit attached to the 70-200 in the location shown above. Does that make sense....

Great minds think alike eh? :-D I was like you, I couldn't believe they made a "quick access" bag which didn't allow you quick access to your other lenses without unzipping the whole front panel. Might as well have a normal backpack :-S

Yeah exactly, after I kept trying to get to other things without taking it off my back, and nearly dropping everything every time, I decided something needed to be done.

I almost didn't buy it because the picture suggests you HAVE to have your white lens on. Not everything I want to take a quick snap of is far away!

Well, inspired by this thread I decided to have a play with my own bag. In this case a 200 AW rather than the 302 AW.

Worked really well.

In here I have:

D700 with 24-70 2.8 attached
70-200 2.8
SB700 Flash
50mm 1.4
A 2x converter
A 20mm Voigtlander prime
Remote release
Spare memory cards
Lee filter gear
Cleaning stuff

Pretty pleased!

I've got the aw202.
Haven't really played around with it, but I'm tempted to rip out all the useless velco compartments, and cut off all those dangling loops on the outside of the bag, honestly, you put this thing down on the floor and you've got an instant booby trap.
On the plus side, my D5100 came back repaired after this bag took a nosedive from the mid tier bed of an Indian train.
It's comfortable to wear, i'll give it that.
Note the white padding on the inside. Did you think it was one of those lowe pro accessories you can buy/add on to your bag? No it's just some rolled up
plastic I put in there to stop the camera doing summersaults cause the inside doesn't fit any camera I've ever seen.

lol plastic, nice one. It doesn't exactly look "lowepro accessories" but it looks functional.


I've had a new lens purchase and so I've done some more rearranging. If the camera is on the 100-400 then it sits on the left hand side just fine. If I have my 24-105 or any other lens on then it sits in the middle. Works a treat.

I reckon Lowepro should employee as the bag arrangement executive.

Or I should play Tetris professionally....
