How much debris can you cope with?

Bought another camera for less than £4 on ebay. I've cleaned it and it works perfectly. The only problem is the amount of debris that is visible when looking through the viewfinder. I'm assuming it's from the mirror damper foam? Reluctant to try my hand at removing it, as I might make things worse. Just put up with the bits if the camera works perfectly well? It's a Minolta XG1

I'll swap you Stephen! you should see my camera, shocking. Luckily, nothing is appearing on my photos yet, although I did send it off to Jessops a year or two ago for a good swap, they did a good job (on the THIRD attempt).

I just can't throw any camera away. Love bringing them back to life, no matter what state they are in. Thirty cameras are currently staring at me and asking me to put a film in them. I need help ... :D

I believe the earlier XG-1's didn't have removable focus screen like the later version, which were removable through the mirror box.

Some of the Olympus OM's I've restored had a lot of foam dust and debris, it does take a while, but it can be cleaned up.
