How much do the metal camera cases go for?

I'm after a small one for storing my camera at home

Just big enough for the camera and kit lens and maybe one more and a couple of bits...


How much do small ones usually go for?

Or would it be cheaper to buy a cheap metal flight case and then get a foam insert cut to shape?

If you want a cheap (but still decent quality)teal flight case, have a look at Maplin's offerings on line.

For sake of paying £35 for one with foam that isn't cut to shape...

I'd be aswell picking up an empty metal case for a few quid, and paying a few quid for some foam and cutting it to shape myself...

You won't find one that's cut to shape - unless you're prepared to pay a fortune for a custom made inner, that is.
Everything on offer will be pick & pluck.

The foam in the maplins ones is cut like a matrix. You simply remove the sections you dont need when creating the shape of your camera, lens, etc. I've got three maplins boxes and they're fine.
