No
I'm not using my 5D at all, not touched it for months. A waste of such a fantastic camera.
So was thinking of selling it and wondered how much it is worth, it's probably done less than 1000 pics, with a 24-105mm IS L lens. Less than 1 year old.

Does anyone know how much it would be worth?

id say about £100 but i will give you £150 call me now................:D

probably worth putting it in the sale/trade section and let the market decide but i would guess around £1000-£1300 for the lot

Split - the 5D is realistically worth about £700 (shops are doing them for £800 - ignore the overpriced asking prices on ebay and sometimes in the classifieds section).

The lens should easily make £400-450

Cheers,
James

The sale section doesn't work like that. You have to name your price.

Lens prices seem quite high at present and the 24-105 is desirable so I'd suggest pricing them separately.

I've just bought a 5D, so have been keep abreast of prices. £800 is definitely the going rate for a reasonable condition unit, and on the bay, probably slightly more.

Mint ones make £950+ on ebay, why on earth would you ignore £200 more than your £700 estimate after fees

It's worth what people are prepared to pay, people on ebay are prepared to pay £950

and a mint lens will make £600

If I was selling I would be asking

Canon 5D in vgc £800 - mint add another £100

Canon 24-105L £650 to £750

Quality lenses hold their value very well. The new price of the 24-105 is £943.99 at WHE. Reduce the new by 20 to 25 percent and that will give you a fair idea of the current value. Six to 12 months ago £450 to £550 may have been closer to the mark but the market has changed and so have the prices. As the 24-105 is available as part of a kit this does lower the resell value (people buy the kit to sell the lens and effectively get a discount on the camera body) so a fair price is probably around the £650 mark for the 24-105.

I think that's a little overpriced to be honest. For an extra £50 you can buy a brand new one, and it'll come with the full warranty etc which is probably worth more to most people than £50. At around £600, £650 I'm sure it would sell, any higher and people will just get a new one!

if you want to sell it, stick it in the sales forum, this reads like a gauging interest thread

This isn't a gauging interest thread. I really didnt know what kinda price tag was realistic. I wouldn't have been able to post in the trade section without a price.
Thanks to everyone for your help :)

Absolutely priceless when your 1Ds get full of grot when you want to go out shooting. :)

I took my 5D out instead. It's my second camera when I shoot weddings and it was lovely to take it out for a spin last night. Went shooting with my other half at Salford. :D
