How much to charge?

Hi, I'm looking for advice, an artist wants to paint some of my images but I've no idea what to charge him. Any help / ideas would be much appreciated.

Well speaking with my artists hat on, I doubt that he/she would want to pay too much. I appreciate photography is also a creative process but I would guess they are after a particular location or some such, so basically if you ask too much they will go shoot the scene with their compact and that's it. I would charge something nominal and ask for credit for the original inspiration.
