Hi All,
I was hoping for some anecdotal experiences of how much weight people have held on their Sun-Sniper slings, in particular the 'Steel' model.
Official guidance from the manufacturer states 2.5kg. When I add up my basic equipment I get closer to this max limit than I'd expected:
5d3: 860g
24-70 II: 805g
580ex II: 405g
= 2,070g + batteries
now I wouldn't have thought the above combo is particularly on the bulky side- I seem to see photogs regularly using what appear to be these slings carrying, say, a 1d + 70-200 f2.8 which immediately takes you over the 2.5kg limit before even adding so much as a flash gun.
I wouldn't intend to carry more than this limit anyway but when I'm lugging around c.4k of gear I'd prefer to know that I have more than 15-20% 'headroom', particularly given the single point of failure. Is the manufacturer being particularly cautious with this limit?
