I got the phone call today..
The Nikon 85mm 1.4g that I ordered months ago will be here tomorrow!! :love: Now I don't usually get excited about new gear anymore, but I actually am this time!
Maybe the waiting has done me some good. :shrug: Trouble is, they've raised my hopes now and if it doesn't arrive at the shop, I am going to be so pi**ed off! :bang:
Just thought I would share the anticipation. :D

I managed to get the 85mm f1.4 afd from Amazon brand new for £530. It is an amazing lens!
 
Where is this from? I am after one at the moment and nowhere has stock. Congrats on the purchase!

Local independent I use. Trust me, they don't have another coming in. It's been hell getting hold of this one.
Many false delivery dates from Nikon since November. :bang:

Well, it actually arrived!!! Such a lovely piece of workmanship deserves a bit of 1.4 treatment, so the 50mm was happy to oblige..

Still in the box..

Off to the pub now for a meal and will try and have a play later. I can see that I will be spending some time learning to understand this lens. The old 85mm 1.4 needed patience and understanding at times. I expect the same from this beauty.

Ignore the iso. I accidently left it on auto. Not bad though. No NR.
