How to calibrate a battery

Hello,
how or can you calibrate a battery (Canon Ni-MH Pack)?

My batteries seem to be giving a poor performance lately and I assume if this can be done it will improve things.

I do know batteries only last a set number of years.

as far as i know only the 1D series can be calibrated.

for what model and how old is the battery?

If it is an NP-E3 you can do a refresh on the NC-E2 charger, it takes ages but does a deep discharge, then a recharge, to keep them in good condition.

If that doesn't work then I find 7DayShop compatibles at about £15 each do a good job at a fraction of the cost of a genuine Canon.

It is a Canon 1D MK11 N

Some of the batteries are older than others - I know they only last so long.

The refresh button on the charger is that effectively calibrating it?
Perhaps some of the batteries have just seen the end of time.

The refresh button drains the battery till it is fully empty, then recharges it, it tries to minimise the memory effect that NiMH and NiCad batteries can get.

As I say 7dayshop batteries work so well I carry 6 of them.
