How to change file name on 5dmk2?

Ive got a 1dmk3 and i can change the file name of the images in the menu, to say IMG or whatever i like.

On the 5dmk2 i cant seem to change it anywhere, cant see anything in the menu, or eos utility, ive even read the manual and cant find anything.

Im only asking as it says _MG when i transfer the photos, seem to have an "I" missing

PLEASE HELP ME ,lol

Means you're shooting in Adobde 1998 I think, as opposed to sRGB. And I don't think you can change the name in the 5D.

No; _MG_ is RAW and IMG_ is jpeg.

Just checked. _MG_ is Adobe 1998, IMG_ is sRGB.

Raw, JPEG makes no difference, as that's already designated by the file extension obviously.

I believe it's only the 1 series with which you can designate filenames in camera. Same for copyright information as well possibly. Though that may have changed with newer models that I haven't really used much.

If you're alway using your computer, it's easy to set the filename as an action on importing anyway.
