How can I lock the information in the properties, details, so that no one can change them?

If you mean copyright and usage info in IPTC and Exif then you can't. All someone has to do is drag it into an editing program, change the details and resave it.

Iptc?

International Press Telecommunications Council?

lol

Never heard of it, and have read a bit and still have no clue, im more confused to when I started.

So is this something different to the normal properties field of any windows file?

EDIT just found it in Bridge, so can I lock any of the fields in there?

AFAIK no.

You could just copy the image out and change those details.

However, you can get security kits, which will show 'errors' if the details have been changed.
But again, there is nothing to stop someone copying the image out without the verification details.

If I apply the information, then read-only, burn to a CD. They would have to copy back to their HDD and then untick the read only box first.

Is there a way to apply a security setting to have access to change a readme file ?

if it was a file staying on a local computer it may have been possible via ownership and permissions.

but if its a file that is going out on CD etc then its extremely easy to change stuff like that im afraid.
