How to make 5DMKIII write faster

Its not quite true. The camera only slows down to CF write speed if your writing to both at the same time.
Simply having it in the slot doesn't cause any problems and thus I use mine as an overflow so I never run into the out of memory problem just as the sun rises or sets!
 
Yes, this is very old news and has been discussed 100's of times since the camera came out.
It's only if writing to the SD slot, and so not really anything to worry about if you don't. I find it's very handy having a SD card in the camera, just as a back up in case I forget to put the CF card back in.
What isn't talked about much is that if the battery drops below a certain point (I think it might be 30% but maybe higher ) the camera will also slow down.

How slow is slow, I get 3.5 fps with my Nikon FE2 and MD12 motordrive.
 
It's not really slow. I use decent speed sd and cf cards, write raw to the cf card, small jpeg to the sd card. Ok if I motor gun at sports I'll soon hits the limit for a couple of secs but in normal shooting it's not an issue and actually a bonus
