How to photograph ice cubes?

Hi!

I am trying to take a series of photos of some ice cubes (real ones, not fake) on a glass surface. The problem is that I can not make the cubes stay in one place, they slide on the glass. I have no clue how to overcome this, any ideas?

it would work if the glass was 100% level, or slightly concave.
Other than that im stumped.

suppose it depends how much salt you use and how big your ice cubes are

put you glass into the freezer as well and see if they stick together as they freeze

The glass will go frosty then not clear, I think he's after the reflections?

the ice isnt cold enough
get it to the bottom of the freezer and leave it there for a few days
ideally youd stick it in formation and then refreeze it on some tin foil or something so you can just wack it on the table.
when its cold enough you will have enough time before it melts.

I will try it today with some ice sprinkled on the glass surface. Hopefully the cube will stay in place.
