How to store camera/lenses in camera bag

Hello,

I have a Canon 70D and a couple of lenses, I have an Lowepro Adventura 170, they all fit well, however I'm unsure hows best to store the camera. Is is ok to store a body still attached to a lens? If so, is it best lens facing down or up? Or would it be better detaching?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I actually saw someone mentioning that leaving the lens on the body would start to do damage to the mount.

Personally i can't see that happening, I always used to leave my 5D3 and 70-200 II IS on the camera in the bag and never once even thought about it. I still don't.

This image shows how I store my camera, although my camera is on its side so when I pick it up, I'm picking it up ready to shoot, just need to grab it with one hand. Much nicer way to store it.
