Yes
How water proof are D-SLR's and lenses'? Its just i was out today at a rally and got pretty wet, and do at almost every rally tbh!

Cheers, Adam

wow yeah! Im sure they could withstand 10 mins in a light downpour.

Depends on the body/lens combination though really, as some are more waterproof than others.

yea, im mostly using a Sony A200 with the Sigma DG 70-300mm lens.

i never chanced it with my 35mm bodies and lenses
we have a fuji allweather 35mm which did ok for snaps
now i still dont like water on my gear...any of it
one can carry an umbrella...a white one...to ward off the drips and act as an occasional reflector

Mine are pretty good - when I was using D2x bodies, I fell over in a stream and plunged both cameras and lenses right under...
Both were working again within an hour after a hurried drying-off...I left them in a warm dry place overnight and they were fine for the following three months after which I replaced them with the kit I have now...
AFAK no lasting harm was done...

cheers lads, i also hate anything of mine wet, just a bit unsure as on full zoom moving to minimal zoom it was carrying water to the inside, i dried it but noticed it was still wet as i wound it out. All dry now ;)

I hate getting my gear wet even though most of my lenses are weather sealed, I get paranoid something will break

There's something inside that just tells you it's wrong isn't there ;) I've always tried to avoid getting soaked, even with L glass. But then, I could never afford to have one break. Suppose an L lens does exhibit signs of leakage, I assume canon would cover this?

I spoke to a professional photographer who was on The Tour of Ireland this year, it was memorably wet. So much so on the final stage that most of the cameras packed up, and they were all pro series bodies/lenses so weather sealed. They use rain covers whenever possible!
