How would you overcome GAS?

Is GAS actually that bad?

The research, keeping up with new, hunting it down, purchasing, awaiting to arrive, first use of product, getting real experience of using it and then selling it and starting again from step 1.

Okay it is an endless pursuit but that is not to say it isn't enjoyable and it is just how some people work. I get GAS on guitars, keyboards, bikes and whatever else I am interested in that year so even if I am happy with one thing there will always be another.

Assuming the money being spent is not keeping your family from eating then no real harm is there?

I stick with the kit I've got until either the funds appear magically (!!) or I hit a wall and can't do anything more with it e.g. my 40D was great until I went pro full time and it struggled with AF and I needed more fps so I bit the bullet and bought the 7D, which in less than 2 months has already paid for itself. I'll keep it for a couple years then look at upgrading again
