Hi,

I'm looking to buy a 77mm circular polariser for use on a 24-70 2.8 and a 12-24 Tokina mounted on a 7D.

I've trawled the web and found that Onestop have the HD cheaper than the Pro1 version (£68.66 vs £70.94) I've checked the 82mm versions and it's the same situation, the two are nearly the same price.

Everywhere else seems to sell the HD at a significant premium to the Pro1.

I know from a quick search on here that Onestop have a good name so I'm not worried about buying from them, just confused about the pricing. Probably shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth..... :bonk:

Cheers

I went ahead and ordered the HD from them anyway.... Strangely enough they don't do the HD Protector filters so I had to order those from Denton (who were extremely helpful).

I would have been happy with the Pro1 CPL but as the HD was a bargain..... :D

Will let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Having used both the Pro1D and HD filters I think the HDs are worth the extra money (you can get them a lot cheaper from the Hong Kong sellers on ebay). They are definitely more durable and abrassion resistant.

I actually got the HD protectors from Denton. As cheap or cheaper than ebay and less risky.

I can see a couple of CPL filters that are cheaper than Onestop but again, even though the sellers have good ratings, I'd rather deal with Onestop.

As a footnote, Onestop answered a pre-sales query yesterday at midnight HK time and dispatched the filters overnight. Very impressed so far.

Denton also went out of their way to help, having some out of stock filters sent to me directly from the importer.

I've got the cheapest of the cheap (green boxed) Hoya CPL filters that I got for £20. No sharpness issues, no fringing, CA or anything else :) Sometimes there's nothing wrong with being tight with your money!

Anyone else using cheapy CPL vs Pro1? Just got the 300mm f/4 and fancied using it on the 10-20 too (yes - know the issues with CPL on ultra wide angle...)
