Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on quality with either the LCW ND500 or a Hoya Pro 1 ND filter? The Hoyas can be found 20-25% cheaper than the LCW filters but I don't mind paying extra for quality but hate paying extra if there isn't any.

Anyone have any feedback on either?

Thanks

Pete

You're not comparing like with like. ND32 is five stops, ND64 is six stops, ND500 is nine stops. Closest Hoya is their X400, a bit over eight stops.

Thanks for your reply but I'm really just wanted thoughts regarding manufacturer. Some people only buy B&W filters, others Kenko etc. The reason I wanted a comparison with the two manufactures mentioned was because they both have Ultra thin filter frames to help avoid vignetting.

Both Hoya and B+W are good, especially their high end multi-coated jobbies.
