Any one heard of these protectors before?

I guess its clear with no filter element purely lens protection?
 
Yup, no UV film or skylight etc. I have a couple but never use them. Nice to have in case they're needed though.
 
mine just arrived for my new lens .. darent not have a filetr on a £900 lens ..

didnt want the UV as it would encroach on the image so i went for the clear one ... glad its got good reviews
 
For what I do I find hoods give more than enough protection. I've always been of the opinion that filters will degrade the quality of the image, no matter how expensive they are. But I can appreciate other people's opinion to say it doesn't.

If you are to get the best out of your £900 lens, just don't point it at any bright lights or you'll wonder why you bothered. Flare and ghosting is the most usual problem with filters.

UV has no impact on image quality with digital, detrimental or otherwise.

If you want lens protection, use a hood and only fit the filter when there is real danger of nastiness hitting the lens (sea spray, flying mud, sticky fingers, dogs noses). That's a about it - a few drops of rain won't hurt.
