hi
ive been looking at uv filters for some protection against sand from the beach,
ive found two hoya filters, one says uv(n) and the other uv(o). can someone tell me what the difference is please.

i have no idea if this is correct or not but i found this quote after a quick google.

The (0) is fine optical quality glass while the (N) is not optical quality glass and designed for their Asian market. The (N) filters are typically lower priced as a result of the lower quality glass.

Avoid the "green box" Hoya filters, they're made in the Philippines and not up to the standard of the Japanese ones.
