HP Scanjet 5500c on Snow Leopard

Yes
I have a HP Scanjet 5500c which I've owned for many years and it's a great scanner, especially with it's 6x4 photo feeder. However, I can't seem to get it working with my Mac running Snow Leopard (10.6.6).

The HP website only offers drivers/software for Tiger (10.4), but I had the scanner working perfectly on Leopard (10.5).

Does anybody have any suggestions, or is it a case of ditching a perfectly good scanner and finding a replacement (although I haven't seen any other scanners with a 6x4 feeder).

I'm going to try it on my Windows 7 bootcamp partition (although drivers only seem to go up to Vista) or failing that, fire up my old PowerMac G4 Cube running Tiger and try it on there.

Have a look at Vuescan - that has drivers for most scanners and operating systems.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I did manage to get it working with Windows 7 last night, using the Vista drivers on the HP website and the Windows Scan Wizard thing, but it's just a hassle having to reboot into Windows every time I need to scan something.
