hi all.

I am looking at some sigma lenes, what do I have to look for in the title eg 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO to tell me if it is the HSM model?

thanks for reading.

Ben.

Ben.

I have the APO version and when shopping for it I found a lot of the older non APO versions did not have the motor but some did and the product descriptions on some sites were slightly misleading. It got a bit confusing.
I don't think the motor is a true HSM one to be honest, but it works ok, if a little slow and noisy.
Get the APO version if your budget stretches.

hi tony, am i right in thinking that the hsm versions don't have the aperture ring on them?
Ben.

With nikon fit lenses they will also often be labelled, BIM which stands for built in motor.

Ben,

Apologies for the short reply last night - couldn't resist it. Click here for a list of Sigma's abbreviations......... ;)
