HSS Or Long Tail Flash Question

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some clarification on this subject please.
I'm just about to purchase a portable lighting kit that doesn't offically support true HSS, so my question is...If I place say, Youngnuo HSS triggers on both the flash & my camera will the system let me go passed my cameras sync speed?
I'm using Flash guns at the moment to darken & control the light, but wanted move to a portable system.

Ive tried my yongnuo triggers on both a set of cheap interfit studio flashes and a portable quantuum flash head. Using both a nikon d7100 and d810 I can Sync up to 1/8000.

It's complicated because it is flash specific.
Some flashes burn longer and are more suited, if you can't get tail sync working predictably though you could try an ND filter. I use a 3 stop with the Safari 2.

Do these types of flashes give a long enough, consistent output for this to work?
