I have had Huey Pro for over a year now, recently I installed Win 7 on the computer but never got round to re-installing Huey Pro as I have not been editing any pics of late. This morning I dragged Huey out the box to re-install it, I need to ask Huey Pro users a couple of questions as I cannot quite remember what it was like on my old setup.

1: After Huey has been installed and monitor calibrated, when the sensor has been replaced in the cradle and prefs set to adjust automatically, each time the LED's flicker on the huey Pro sensor which I assume is measuring the amount of light hitting it the monitor screen will give me a a flash or flicker, assumingly this is the display changing ever so slightly.
Is this flash/flicker normal? I can't quite remember this happening on my old Vista setup as it was ages ago since last used.

2: Can some look on the rear of their sensor and tell me if there are 2 sets of suckers, one top and bottom. I'm pretty sure there were two sets at either end for sticking on the monitor, if so I seem to have lost a set somewhere.

Thanks

If the light in your room is changeable then yes it is standard for the screen to flicker/readjust when light levels change.

I am sure there are only a set of 6(?) suction pads at the top of the unit. Again, like you I haven't used it recently so can't remember 100%.

Sorry if this doesn't really help.

There's 8 suckers at one end of the back. The screen doesn't really 'flicker' for me but you can see the brightness change when it does adjust the settings.

Agreed re suckers, 8 of them at one end.

As for flickering, it depends on your monitor! It does not flicker on the Dell 2407wfp on my mac pro nor on the Samsung 15" touchscreen thing I have on my PC BUT it does flicker on my 17" iMac so I turned off the ambient light check as it was too annoying.

Thanks guys, I thought Suckers had came off and they had been swept up...Phew! Think I might turn off the ambient thingy too,

Quick question - did you download the latest Huey install off the net?

When I first installed under win7 I had extreme flickering. Redownloaded the software install a couple of days after they announced it was now Win 7 compatible and the flickering stopped. Oddly the download had the same name and version, even the same file size, but I'd have to assume was slightly different. Either that or a reinstall just fixed it.
