A day trip to the beach with the family and i was more interested in taking pics, eating chips and donuts!!

1st you're too far away from the action.

2nd you need the horizon leveling but needs something to look at

3rd is the same, and you're too far away

4th has too high contrast causing lots of lost detail

im new to it all and i dont notice things which people do when been doing it for ages so ill take info on board and look out for it next time

Pretty much agree with Pete's comments but I actually really like the last one. Don't know if you meant to process it like that deliberately but it's got strong colours, pretty well set up in thirds running across the image and the lost detail doesn't bother me a bit.

 

[Plugus Maximus]

The kiters on that beach are some of the best in the country (they hang out on the flexifoil forums). Get closer to the action as they make great subjects to shoot with a camera. If you see a bunch setting up just wander over for a chat ... they'll tell ya where it's safe to stand.
