Hi all!
So I bought a second-hand 400D w/kit lens in November for £250, but the autofocus had broken
From the dent on the box, it looked as if it'd had a great big whack in transit, but there was no way to prove it and no way to claim 
So I took it to Jessops and paid £100 (!!) for repairs (and a 6 month warranty in fairness I suppose); apparently a circuit had come loose or something. Anyway, it was fine for a few days, but then just before the end of November.. ERR99 :bang:
I tried allsorts of ways to remedy it, but to no avail, so took it back. The guy at the counter said that it'd have to go off again, but it was unlikely that I'd get it back until the New Year This was all the more annoying because I've got a trip planned up Snowdonia over Christmas to use my new little pal! I asked if he could hurry it because of the circumstance, but would understand if not, and he said that he'd do his best.
Anyway, I'm off back to Wales tomorrow, and lo! Just had the phone call from the shop and it's back and in tip top condition.. apparently a circuit has been replaced again! Not sure if it's the same one, but I'm just glad to be going back to Wales with the little fella.. I'm determined to get some hilltop HDR action on the go
So well done to Martin in Jessops in Nottingham for rushing it through, and it just goes to show that if you close your eyes tightly and wish hard enough, little bits of magic do happen I look forward to sharing the pics with you all when I get back
