HX50 vs TZ40 vs XF1 completely stuck..

after looking at this which compares tz40 vs hx50 vs sx7000

my personal opinion is hx50 offers more value for money than the sx700 with longer battery life, stitching in panoramic mode. Could see marginal image quality difference between the sx700 and hx50.

tz60 looks pretty much a hx50 with an electronic viewfider but £130 more ? :meh: :indifferent:

purchasing expensive things is hard work , first world problems ahy!
 
i have been comparing the image quality of the hx50 ad xf1 and just wondering what causes the difference on the blacks on the ticket in the woman hand and the top left of the square The HX50 looks to have lighter blacks is this due to sensor size or image processing engines ?

just a quick update had a look at the HX50 today was quite impressed with usability , weight and could fit it in my jeans pockets easily which i was chuffed about . Had a zoom into sign across the street even though i could visibly see the shake from me on the LCD the image was crystal

will have a look at xf1 tomorrow night in the local currys :)

Haha I wouldn't mind the view finder on it and the gps for when traveling but carnt justify the extra £120 :-(

You seen it cheaper the £319 anywhere?

Yep me too, I have deffo got my eye on this model, but I wont pay the price though so I got a TZ35 to tide me over. When I have had my fun using that and I am looking to buy another, hopefully the TZ60 will be a more reasonable price. But probably by then, there will be another latest Camera out that we all want instead !

How useful is the viewfinder on the tz35 compared to a lcd screen? That is my only concern not having a view finder

There is no viewfinder on the TZ35 model, only the TZ60 has a viewfinder, and that's an EVF.
 
Anyone know if the low light performance on the tz60 will be better than the hx50?

Would recommend the hx50 I've had mine for a couple of weeks and take it everywhere.

Th e geese shot was handheld whilst trying to hold a spaniel

The landscape was a test shot then using the zoom to zoom into the house on the hill

thanks for posting these they look great (although i am not expert)

what does it handle like indoors in low light conditions?

These look awesome shots!

That's good to hear just need something which is 10 fold better than a smartphone really doesn't need to be pro level quality

How do you find the screen in bright sunlight? Have read conflicting views about it
 
If you buy from jess ops at moment it's £199 with free Sony leather case. You could always order online and if it's not for you return under distant selling regulations. I ordered mine from Sony outlet and got a refurbished one and had to send back as it had a fault. There refurbished are not a patch on fuji who's are excellent.

Haha I blame you for this! if I am spending £200 and only have to stretch another £109 (£339 at curry's and then claim £30 cash back) I meswell get it right first time want this camera to for years so don't want to be buying twice


Found in my research you can get the app on your phone to set the focus point when taking self portraits etc don't think you can get the hx50 to do set the focus point unless I am wrong
 
Picked up an XF1 from Currys/PC World a couple of days ago. Currently £129

Only had a play around with it but first impressions are good.
