I am sooo excited right now.

Just had an unexpected knock on the door from the FedEx guy, with a delivery... especially for me...

I have just taken delivery of my most lusted after lens... the awesome Oly ED 7-14mm - and I am like a kid with a new toy! I wasn't expecting this for another week or two, but it's here, right now, and I am delighted.

This lens is so wide it's unreal, and its performance at the widest setting of 7mm (14mm FF equiv) is simply excellent. I had a loan of one for a few weeks back in the spring when I went to Sandymouth with my daughter and fell in love with the lens then - just didn't think I'd ever own one. Also, for a twitcher and bird togger, the extreme wides were the least expected lenses on my radar - so to have this now is even more astonishing for me; I've simply fallen in love with landscape/seascape/scenic stuff. Much to learn... can't wait.

So... we're off out this evening somewhere, don't know where yet, but we'll take the dogs out for a nice long walk. Might post some shots later...

Not quite... at £1,347 new - I wish!!

It was unexpected as I hadn't expected it to be delivered until next Friday. Only spoke with Oly last week so to receive it now is super; was told 10 days, arrived in 5.
 
Congratulation on your new toy .. that feeling of getting something new and expensive is just wonderful, even more so when it arrives earlier than expected.

Two things are now missing :shrug: .. pictures taken with that toy and pictures of that toy mounted to your older body.
