I fear my 7D may have gone wrong :(

Yes
I bought a 7D at the beginning of May this year brand new. This weekend I noticed that the there seemed to be a slight delay on the shutter, and possibly when focussing, being at motocross though it was hard to be 100% sure because of the noise.

Well I have just come back from a shoot and there is definitely a delay, its only slight but definitely there, it doesn't happen every time but most times. Also the auto focus is delayed, it's not just with one lens either I've tried all my lenses.

What can have gone wrong! I've only had the camera 2 months! :help:

Will obviously be returning it but would like to know if anyone else has had an issue?

There isn't a delay setting is there? (Sorry, I'm not familiar with Canon)

When I was out shooting last night, I noticed a delay when I used my new IR remote which was annoying and I thought it might be broken but when I looked into it, it's in the settings, IR remote delay 1sec (and could be switched off).

(Btw, I know you're not using an IR remote but worth a try)

had something similar the other week on my 7d a quick flick through the menu settings showed it to be user error I had set it like that
can't remember what setting it was off the top of my head but it was obvious at the time

Have you set focus priority over release priority for AI Servo so that the shutter will not release until the subject is considered to be in focus?

I've looked through all the settings and I can't see anything that looks like it.

I can't see anything obvious. Also this doesn't seem to happen every time, it happens most times. If it were a setting I have changed wouldn't it be happening all the time?
