Hi everyone,
I'm Daniel, an amateur photographer from Spain. I have one camera, six lenses, and way too many accessories that I always forget to pack.
A couple of years ago I went on a trip to Italy and realized at the airport that I'd left my battery charger at home. Not the end of the world, but annoying enough that I started keeping a spreadsheet to track my gear and plan what to bring on each trip.
The spreadsheet worked... sort of. It was slow, clunky, and couldn't tell me things like "hey, that lens doesn't fit your camera without an adapter" or "you're bringing an SD card that's too slow for your camera's burst mode."
So I built PhotoArsenal — an iOS app for photographers who want to keep their gear organized and never show up to a shoot missing something important.
**What it does:**
- Full inventory of your gear (cameras, lenses, drones, batteries, filters, memory cards, chargers — 16+ categories)
- Organize gear into backpacks and plan trips with containers
- **GearGuard** — a smart alert system that checks your gear before a trip: missing batteries, incompatible lenses (including mount adapters like EF-S on an EF-to-RF adapter), slow memory cards, even whether you need a power adapter for the country you're visiting
- **SmartAdd** — long-press any camera and it suggests compatible batteries, memory cards, and filters automatically
- A verified catalog of cameras, lenses, batteries and adapters so you don't have to type specs manually
- Weight tracking per backpack, total trip value for insurance/customs
The app is free during beta. Some premium features will be added later, but the core inventory will always be free.
I'm not selling anything — I'm just looking for photographers who'd be willing to try it and tell me what's missing, what's broken, or what would make it actually useful for them.
It's currently in beta on TestFlight (iOS only). If you're interested, drop a comment and I'll send you the link.
Thanks for reading. And yes, I now always bring my charger.
