Excellent news.

I got one in the Schmap of Prague earlier this year, via the same route (Flickr)

Good for you!

Its a shame that companies, large and small, can get images for free rather than pay what they deserve. They could get a lot from stock and microstock agencies. I bet they pay for virtually every other product/service their company consumes or uses.

thanks guys!

Nice one! I managed to get two shots published in a national magazine via flickr, and another one got me £190 and my shot being used on 2500 posters across the US and Canada. It's great to see something published with your name on it.

I'd like to be used some day by a rich business woman who spends too much time away from home and wants a toy boy to use and abuse. Good shot by the way. I've had a few of these too but I don't think anything ever came of it.

Why do people fall for this every time?

Schmap just blitz Flickr with spam emails and those who respond get "chosen" to have their pics included on the site. It's a brilliant business model, but it's no comment on how good any of the images are....

sorry but got to agree with flash ,,,and when you say no money involved did flickr do it bcoz they're nice people or do they get a cut ?

Lovely shot .

I have just been reading Schmaps terms and conditions and they reserve the right to charge for its use in the future. If any photographers wish to give their work away to this company which is using your free images to create its site and must be making money somewhere along the line, then they (photographers) should reserve the right to charge for the images in the future.

Whenever they spam me asking for a shot I always reply back asking "do you work for free? - I don't".

Its designed to flatter ("have been nominated") into basically giving work away.

Again - do the "Schmap" people work for free - NO!

Neither should you! Your shot is only worth what people are willing to pay I'm afraid.

Don't mean to burst your bubble here, but this has been going on for ages via Flickr.
