...on my Mac.

I set the colour profile ro sRGB via System Prefs --> Display --> Colour -->sRGB

I then set colour management to ON in Firefox 3.

Then I looked at my pics on flickr and OMG do they look better.

It's probably not calibrated perfectly (if at all) but I didn't realise how much of a difference it would make :D

I have never used a Mac until I went to college and they are awful to use. Suppose if I got use to it then I would like it but they are so difficult to use when I am used to windows. They really confuse me

You're young Matt, you'll learn :D

How do I turn colour management on in Firefox?

type in about:config into the address bar, and hit enter.
Bypass the 'Here be dragons warning'.

Scroll down to the value : gfx.color_management.enabled and double click it.
It should turn bold, and the option next to it change to true.

Restart Firefox et voila!

How in gawds name do you know stuff like that?

:)

do you need to do this on a pc?

Thankin you kindly so very much!

I've often wondered why there was a marginal difference in blacks between an image on my mac and an image on the web.
After your tip Marcel, all is smack dab on the button!

Cheers!

Matt, you should be able to set up your Windows monitor to use sRGB as its default and invoke the change in Firefox.
