About traveling about with my camera, I live nearer to Cheshire, so its nice round there, If anyone heard of glazebrook ud understand, ERm but what my concern is , is my screen, I dont want it scratched and i know it probs wont but i want to go out taking pictures but im also scared of someone taking it.

I cant afford a travel bag for it either atm, so Do you think putting the body in the box it came with and the lens with the caps on the lens be ok? (sorry for all the posts guys, Bet uv never heard someone moan so much lol :bang: )

got my vw serviced in awesome in cadishead...

i think things were better when irlam had their own council

So to sum it up ....

1. You are scared to take the camera out incase someone nicks it
2. You are scared to take the camera out incase you scratch it
3. You are scared to order a screen protector off the internet (which would solve 2.)

Did you ever wonder if maybe photography is not for you

I'm guessing that having a go at camera tossing is probably out of the question :naughty:

Thanks guys :) , Think i might just go for it, *** tbh down glazebrook they dont really bother down there, and Tbh i wanna go to places owned by national trust lol
spring time should be nice :D

Camera tossing? :bonk:

If you're really really really nice to the camera it might just... oh no wait, that's a completely different thing. Google camera tossing, it's basically tossing your camera in the air and taking a photo mid flight. Personally, I'd be wrapping it in the afore mentioned bum roll before tossing anything. Ahem...

what a load of leg pullers LoL

seriously have you tried somewhere like Jessops, i'm sure they would sell some kind of screen protector to fit.

Failing that see if a friend would order one for you :)

Stamp collecting might be a safer option for you. LOL

Nahhh DJ, get out there and get shooting!

I'm a girlie and I wander around Salford at all sort of times (night and day) lugging a 1Ds about. I've walked around Glasgow at night on my own, not a problem. I did get asked by one Glaswegian if I was not worried, I simply waved my tripod in his direction and offered the sage advice that "If they fancy picking up their teeth..." He laughed, so did I and off I went. :)

Don't let it get to you. If you go out and appear to be confident and walk with puropse you are far less likely to become any kind of target. SO go on and get out there :)

Ha ha I think I will :boxer: Only thing that prevents me is this typical English weather lol :bang:

It's true - if you look like you know what you're doing, people tend to assume you do know what you're doing...

gotta agree with that, and also stretch it a bit further..
I also live in a "somewhat dodgy" area, and also worried about taking the camera out.
I rapidly discovered though that you have two choices:-Walk around with fear burdening your shoulders, and it will stand out like a sore thumb-Marking you as a target more than any camera could..
Adopt an air of confidence and purpose, and you are much less likely to have any trouble..
Im 6' 2",and 240lbs which i guess kind of helps a bit-but am not at all a confident person in "confrontational" situations-Im a big softie..
Thing is though-The local scumbags dont know that :)

Get yourself a screen protector and get out there.
Life's for living, and your shiny DSLR is for taking pictures:-Ignore the locals and go enjoy both :)

:) Words of wisdom Mischeif lol, Well I would do it today but the weather is so crap !
