Hi all,
So I have been taking photos almost exclusively with my 50mm 1.8 and my D7000. As you know this is a crop body and I am noticing more and more the need for a wider lens. I do 90 per cent portraits and this current set up gives me good portraits especially 3/4 full body shots. (If I can call them that
)
What I need is to be able to take pictures where there is little less space to back up away from the subject but also a lens that is nice for city landscapes or street photography (I am not looking for sweeping vista landscapes). I could also do with a lens that brings me closer to the subject to avoid distortion on headshots and just to offer variety as regards field of view.
Anyway, so I am looking at getting the Tamron 24-70. This would do what I need, I guess. Remember I am using a crop sensor so it is equivalent of 36mm to... something else
I'm sure someone here knows.
I have seen a lot of talk online about the little 17-50 from Tamron also but this seems to be exclusively suitable for landscapes(?) For the wider end only. So my question is, do you think I am making a good decision here with the 24-70? Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. I would of course consider the Nikon 24-70 if only I had more money
Thanks
