The area of photography I like to do is out doors, distant subjects, flowers, tree`s, forests, Fields, Anything like that but I use a normal standard 18-55mm VR lens, And I was wondering considering this what len`s I should look towards getting.

O and the occasional music event/partys:)

What should I look towards getting do you think?
 
Well, It would be better because my lens can go only so far, And I mean there could be the perfect picture but I can`t get in close enough with obstacles in my way. So that would be an option yes, Wide angle yeah aswell.
 
I have the 18-55mm VR like you Daniel and I bought the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro. The only problems I have with it are that if you are using the macro mode it is at 200-300mm and when shooting straight down on to the subject it can wind down to 300mm from 200mm. Out of both the lenes it is the one I use the most I have hard used the 18-55mm to be honest.

I ain`t using mine for macro though tbh, It`ll be landscape etc.
 
You could buy the one without the Macro mode Daniel I only use mine for landscape, wildlife
