Hi All,

At the moment i use a Canon 1DMkII and a 1DMKII(N), for my job in the Sports and events world. Both cameras are very heavily used. I also occasionally do weddings and portrait work as well. I'm hoping to do more of this type of work in the future.

I like the idea of a 1DMK3. For the bomb proof construction and the FPS. But I also quite fancy the 5DMK11 for the full frame sensor and high MP.

Any suggestions? (Canon only please, I've got a bag full of lenses that are still in good nick).

I'm about to go for the 5dmk2 for the Wedding type event coverage side of things.. Seems a good all rounder, which performs well in low-light...

1Ds mkii?

FF, 16mp and youll feel right at home with the 1series body :D

Wouldnt have the ISO performance of a 5d2 though :(

Dare i say it hold out for the next 1D if you can stretch that far, judging by what the 7d has offered its going to be a serious tool

Next 1D????? I'm waiting as well.

No idea if or when but im sure there will be one out in the next 6months

I cant afford or justify one but if i could justify a MK3 right now i would press on with my mk2 and wait for the next one

Forget about the 5D (MkI/II) for sports, not good at all, focus system not up to it. As a portrait/landscape/wedding/studio camera, yet full agree, good ISO performance and perfect camera.

Forget about the 7D, vast improvement over 50D, but still not a scratch on your 1D's for focus system (shutter lag) performance.

Would suggest 1D MKIII and a 5D MKII to cover both. 1Ds MKIII just not worth extra £££, but If I had to go for 1 camera, the 1D MKIII very time over the 5D MKII, just because of the vast difference in focusing systems.
