I believe this is the caterpillar of a Scopular Moth (Scopular Perlata I think).

I spotted this in one of our connifers and thought it was a dead twig. Wondering why there would be a dead twig in such a place I took a close look. Turns out It was more than a twig :).

Note the 4 claw like legs at the front and the large foot at the back. It was exceptionally good at gripping on with both the legs and the foot. It's also a silk spinner too but have to say there's a Walrus type look about the head :D

Length was about an inch.

These next two were taken using 3 Extension tubes with a slightly smaller aperture of F13 for increased DoF.

Very different subject, have to be honest an ugly insect but lovely set of shots.
