Hi guys, I really need help with this, I thought I was ok on computers but im finding this quite complicated. Im going to explain...

I need a blog.

Idealy I want it to be like Ed Garys http://www.egopimp.com but with an archive so I can click on January, February etc. He told me where to go to download the stuff but im found it complicated so left it but I really need to do this.

I don't mind paying for a blog- domain name, hosting etc.

I already have a website which is hosted by bludomain. Shall I ask if I can host with them or will it not make a difference?

Thank you for the help :)

Luke

Have you looked at wordpress or blogspot?

When setting up my blog I found the videos on this site very useful.

Luke,

Have a look at https://www.blogger.com/start you can create a free blog in lots of places and link it to your web site and a page on your web sit to it.

That would strike me as the easiest and fastest way to get a blog going. If you discover a way to fully integrate later you can transfer the info from one to the other.

BTW I think your website is excellent.

Thanks ill check that out a bit later when I get back from town. I love my website but the fact is its just a customized template, its easier than doing a myspace page.

I´m using pixelpost ( http://www.pixelpost.org/ ) on my own homepage.
www.78seconds.de/pixelpost
Once you did the set up it´s very easy to upload new pictures or do other admin stuff. Ed Garys is using pixelpost as well.
There are different templates available and if you´re good at webdesign you could set up a lot more.
You are also able to edit categories eg for month.

Another nod here for Pixelpost. i've used it on my website for a few years now. Once it's templated up it's a doddle to use. There is also a load of plugins to add extra functionality if you require it. Have a look @ Philson Photography for my use of it

Hey luke

Im following this thread with interest. Im after a wbsite and a blog too.

Im popping round a mates at the weekend as hes a bit more savvy than me when it comes to this sort of thing. Will let you know how i get on and any tips etc.

Where did you get your template from for your website. I really like it. Clean, easy to navigate. Trying to set up something similar myself.

I read somewhere that the user decides within 3 seconds of initially opening a site that they will look further so you need to grab the attention and not overclutter. Exaclty what your site does.
