Yes
First of all I have no picture so you'll have to bare with me!
The last couple of weeks I've been commuting between clevedon and burnham on sea junction on the M5, and I've noticed huge floc's of a type of bird that I'm unsure of, there fairly small there basically dark on top with white underbelly!
When I drove passed this morning there were 100's if not 1000's up in the sky!
When I came home this evening I was gonna risk stopping and getting a picture but there was already someone doing that!!
Any idea there bigger than a swallow or swift!!

As Martyn says could be Lapwings or if they're too big maybe Dunlin?

Edit didn't see Les's post in time

I thought a ringed plover but looks like there lapwings!! Quite a site to be honest!!! Very distracting when in the air!!
Thanks lez that wasn't you on hard shoulder today was it!!lol

I was going to say Lapwings.

You'll often see them flipping and tumbling in mid air.

The flocking in large numbers would have made me say Lapwings before anything else.

What do I win :1st:

Great birds to watch in flight, especially when they start displaying for a mate.

Well done you are the winner! You win an imaginary lapwing display!! Enjoy!!
