ID please

spotted this bird whilst at berwick last week but i'm not sure on the ID. all i know is that is a bird of prey.

Not 100% sure but with the black moustache like markings on the face and shape of the wings, I would stick my neck out and say a Peregrine Falcon.

Its a bit dark but it looks reddish underneath which would make it a kestrel most likely

It is very reddish, but the facial markings suggest peregrine to me. Possibly an immature bird.
No doubt some of the raptor specialists will confirm one way or other.

Hmmm toughy......I don`t think its a kestrel as the end of the tail on a kestrel is quite diffent to this bird (its got black tipped feathers and one thick last black band across the tail while the other bands are quite thin), peregrine? could be though the face markings arn`t quite right the area around the eye should be all blackwith the moustach coming bellow that, but this bird has its moustach seemingly starting forward of the eye. The other possibility is hobby.............................. :shrug: :shrug:

Either a Pereguine of a Hobby.

Never seen a Hobby, but the pic in your link makes me think you are right.
