I've spent a lot of time going through ID websites and the nearest I've seen to this one is a red-necked grebe but the head wasn't right, neither is the beak . I've discounted that. It never came across the lake near to me and this was the best I could get....in the rain. Taken near Aberfeldy,Highlands. It looks like a juvenile. It didn't have a mate,either.
