Yes
We've redecorated the main bedroom and one wall is crying out for a good picture. (Thats me knackered then! ;) )

I think what I want is a really good Sepia image and I would prefer to put one up of my own. I was thinking of a landscape or family image...What kind of image lends itself to Sepia? What do I look for in a scene?

Old, lends itself to sepia.
New stuff never looks right, it ought to be of the period, or at least dateless.
peeps would need to be dressed in pettycoats and top hats with hair in buns and great handlebar moustaches....

Agree on the 'old' idea. How about a dilapidated barn, maybe with an old,old tractor parked outside (yeah I know I'm not asking for much !!!!) or a falling down castle type building. Or a car junkyard esp if you find one where the grass is growing up all round the vehicles. Just my two bobs worth, good luck with your photo.

I've had a quick trawl through my photobucket shots during lunch time and found these:

Shot in Sepia:

Originally in colour, converted to Sepia in Photobucket:

Do we think they're along the right lines?

I don't really think any of those shots work with the toning used - I can't really see any tone in the first, and the other two are totally over the top. Not so much (subtly) toned as just coloured.

I think it's the kind of thing that only works on very specific subjects and has to be done well.

Just my 2p worth and a personal opinion...

What about this one from when I was a friends stag do, the theme being 'middle class farmers' apart from the stag who was dressed as Vicky Pollard....:D :D
