Identifying Gradient ND Filters

How can I tell the optical density of these filters

The darkest one to the left has the ND8 box ticked but they could be mixed up in the boxes for all I know.

the others don't have anything ticked in the ND box just Gradient Grey

The brand on the boxes is Zomei and they are 85mm x 95mm

Now the dumb part:bonk: - what would I use these for?
 
it's good for landscapes :)

on the bright day it lets less light (darker bit). in that case you don't get overexposed sky etc...

ok so guess the dark bits on the top then

any idea how to optical density of them?
 
The darkest is probably Nd8 to the lightest Nd2

Too slow on the typing again

Thanks for clearing that up, so on a bright day just have the dark area skywards?
 
Now for the next lot, these are smaller Cokin filters about 70mm x 70mm

what scenario would these be used

From left to right

COEF + 2 BLUE (80 A) 020
COEF + 1/3 YELLOW A 010
COEF + 3 RED A 003
SPOT - GREY 1 A 62 (seems a bit odd this one)
