....would you get the 1DS Mkii ??

I LOVE my 5D and the pictures the full frame generates but I also LOVE the AF & layout of my 1DN... is the 1DS the best of both?
 
My guess is they would have a 5D3, the only issue being the child would surpass the parents and have video as a side effect :)
From what I've seen so far the 5D3 looks absolutely stunning. I'm just not sure where it leaves the 1DX.

True, but we're talking £££££ for a 5dmkIII or around £1k for a 1DS mkii

Plus I love the form factor of the 1D I find it so easy to get around compared to the 5D (or even my 50D previous!)
 
For the price of a good used 1Ds Mk2, you can pick up a 5D Mk2.

Of course only you can decide what suits your needs best.

I have a 1D mk2 and a 5D, my wife has my 50D which I gave her when I bought my 1D, and tbh I like, as you say, the menu system of the 1D, weirdo that I am.
Sometimes progress isnt everything, just bought a Minolta Al-F, film camera from the late 70's :)

I bought one.... a little bit naughty maybe but now I can compare the three and see what I like!
 
You'll love it, mine is on it's way as we speak, owned the 5d mk2 and a 1ds mk2 and decided now I've switched back to canon to go with another 1ds mk2, only thing I really dislike are the review method and tiny lcd (my dodgy eyes don't help with this though)....
 
I figure the LCD will be a step back from the 1DmkiiN... but who cares when its full frame!
