If I already have Nikon 55-200 is it worth buying 70-300

As per the title really - I have the opportunity to buy an AF-s 70-300 VR for approx £330. It is the lens I really wanted two years ago when I got my 55-200 (limited funds) and now I'm not so sure it is worth it.

Obviously I gain a bit of extra reach but other than that is it worth the extra money or should I stick with my 55-200 and get one of the many other lenses I'm interested in... like a macro? I would be using some of my bonus money from work so want to make the right choice.

I would use the zoom mostly for wildlife & zoo visits.

I can't speak about the 55-200, but I took delivery of my new (to me) 70-300mm VR Nikon yesterday - and although I've not had chance to try it out properly yet, I get the feeling that I'm going to like it. A lot!

The AF is noticeably faster on the 70-300mm.
