I'm thinking of upgrading my Dell 22'' E228WFP flat screen to a IIyama 24''
E2407HDS flat screen when I soon upgrade my computer.
I would appreciate any feedback anyone has on this IIyama screen or any other 24'' screen you have and are happy with.
Thanks
Dave

Edit: sorry posted in wrong section

I have 3 IIyama screens, a 19" and 27" on my main pc, and a 15" on my spare PC.

All three have crisp bright pictures and cannot be faulted.

My new 27" is at factory default rather too bright so had to drop the brightness down to 75% but thats okay.

The 15" is about 10 years old, one of the very first IIyana flatscreens, the 19" is about 8 years old.

I have a Samsung 24" sat in my spare room that has a minor fault, and is the second one I've had in 18 months. I will get it repaired when I can be bothered under warrenty.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another IIyama they are great monitors.
:D

WOW!! Chris, so many screen, I'm just happy with 1......thanks for the positive feedback.

Thanks Mark, looks like its going to be a IIyama

Ilyama used to be a watch word for quality and they are still very good displays but Ilyama are now a user of other people's panels. Dell and Ilyama probably both use the same Samsung other other panel and sometimes it is worth looking around different companies that use the same panels. Still the quality of other components can make a difference too so I suppose there will be a difference. I am looking for a 3x2 display for tethered shooting in the studio with LR3 but not sure on actual size or manufacturer yet.

My main display is a DELL 2407 wfp which with the Huey pro I feel is superb but I might look at getting a 27 or 30 soon. I have been hearing for ages that several panel makers are looking to produce 2560x1600 32" mega monitor panels so one of those (or even two) would be brilliant!!

Still you will notice a great improvement with the 24" display, can you not make use of the 22" display WITH the 24". You can have your email and things like that running on the older display leaving all of your new display for the work you are doing.

Thanks Darren for the detailed reply and the update on the parts bit and mega monitors.
I'm giving my current pc + monitor to my Daughter and SiL as they only have a lpatop at the moment....my desk is cluttered with Epson 1400, draws, CD's so no room for 2 monitors but good advice.
Cheers
Dave

Dell look good but £450 a bit OTT......what's TN can't fathom that one out may be another Senior Moment!!

Iiyama are all TN (read: not very good, mass produced consumer grade type).

Bit sweeping, why not very good.

I have 3 and they are all spot on, why not very good ?

If you want to spend over £400 on a screen fair does but unless you're well off then IIyama's are fantastic for the price.

Of course, they will display office apps just fine, and will show graphics too, just not as good... You probably can't tell until you see a good one, and what a difference it is!

Interesting statement.

Eizo coloredge displays use VA (Vertical Alignment) for their panels

Fair enough comments, I'll have to stick to what I have.

I calibrate my monitor and printer, that way I get out of my printer the same as I see on my screen. For now thats good enough.

If I was a pro togg earning good money then maybe I'd look around but to be honest I doubt it.

Over the 30 years I've been in IT long before TFT, LCD, LED and many others I've seen many monitors and fixed literally thousands and I've come to the conclusion that if it does the job it's good enough.

So mine must be good enough :D
