..to replace my 55-250.
I like the nifty 250 but I would like somethig with a wider aperture for better subject isolation and the extra stops in low lighting would be great too as I'd like to use it for a bit of street work.
As I rarely used the 55-250 below 200 (about 15% of my shots were below that length and even less were keepers) I am thinking that the Canon 200mm f2/8 II L USM is a good idea. I can then add a tc at a later date for a bit more reach if I want it.
Second hand these seem very affordable, even new from Kerso they are reasonably priced it would seem.
IS is not important as the subjects will most likely not be stationary for the majority, and when I need to I can tripod mount it or rest the camera.
The 70-200 2.8 is not really an option. Out of budget and I gather that at 200 mm the prime has the edge in IQ anyway.
However are there any 3rd party gems I am missing out on, or can anyone see any flaws with my thoughts on the 200L?
Thanks
